This workshop will explore the need for financial education and budgeting for disordered gambling clients and their families. Counselors will learn the process for creating and maintaining a budget and repayment of debt accrued by disordered gamblers. This webinar is in two parts. Part 1 is May 12th and Part 2 is May 19th. 3 CEUs for $20

Goals:

• Participants will understand how finances are negatively impacted by disordered gambling behaviors
• Participants will learn about diagnostic criteria and the importance of finances in diagnosis and recovery
• Participants will be involved in creating a budget for families with gambling issues thru a learning exercise
• Participants will develop an understanding of how to begin money conversations and how to families can recover financially

Jerry Bauerkemper, BS, CCGC Past Executive Director of the Nebraska Council on Compulsive Gambling. Mr. Bauerkemper was the first director of problem gambling for the state of Nebraska. He is an internationally recognized trainer on Problem Gambling. He received the First Step award for his work with Gamblers.
